# Accept an invite

> Set up your BayBoard account from the invitation email.

Your shop's Owner / Admin or General Manager sends you an invitation by email. Use the link in that email to set your password and get on the board. The link works for seven days.

## Set up your account

  <Step title="Open the link in the email">
    Click the link in the invitation email. A page opens with "You've been invited" and the heading "Set up your account."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your name and set a password">
    The page reads "Confirm your name if you want to change it, then set the password you will use to sign in to your shop's board."

    | Field            | What to enter                                               |
    | ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
    | Full name        | Optional. "Leave blank to use the name on your invitation." |
    | Create password  | At least 8 characters.                                      |
    | Confirm password | The same password again.                                    |

  <Step title="Click Accept Invite">
    Click **Accept Invite**. You see "Account activated" and "Welcome to the board, \[name]."

  <Step title="Open the board">
    Click **Go To The Board**.

## If the link does not work

**"This invite has expired."** The page adds "Invites stay active for 7 days." and "Ask your shop admin to create a new one." Ask the person who invited you to send a new invite.

**"This invitation link cannot be used."** The page adds "Ask the person who invited you for a new link." Click **Back To Sign In** and request a fresh invite. This happens when a newer invite replaced this one or the invite was revoked.

## Signing in next time

Your account is ready. Next time, go to the normal sign-in page and use your email and the password you set. See [Sign in and reset your password](/getting-started/sign-in).
