The Unassigned panel is the list on the right side of the board. It holds jobs that are not placed on a technician. The header reads “Unassigned Jobs” with the count and total hours.
What lands here
- New jobs saved without both a Technician and a Tech Start Time.
- Jobs set to In Queue.
- Jobs set to Waiting on Parts that are not on the board.
- Jobs you unassign by dragging them off the board or clicking Unassign in Job Details.
- Jobs moved off the board by Reset Day.
- Jobs that Carry Forward or Auto-Schedule could not fit.
Archived jobs live here too, hidden behind a filter.
Filters
Two filters sit under the header.
- Job Type shows all types or one type.
- Status shows all statuses or one. Choose Archived to see archived jobs so you can restore one.
What a card shows
Each card shows the customer, vehicle, description, hours, a job-type chip, and a status pill. Two extras can appear:
- “For [tech]” tag. The job was saved with a technician but no start time. It is meant for that tech but not yet placed. Auto-Schedule prefers that tech for the job.
- Warning triangle. The promised time has passed and the job is not Completed. See Promised time.
Bumped banner
A job that was pushed off the board shows a banner in capitals across the top of the card. The text starts with “Bumped” and says why: Carry Forward could not re-place it, or a technician’s new time off covered its slot (for example “Bumped, Bob R. off”). Drag it onto the board or run Auto-Schedule to place it. See Carry Forward and Reset Day and Time off.
Collapse the panel
Click the chevron in the header to collapse the panel and widen the board. Click again to bring it back. Ctrl+B on Windows, Cmd+B on Mac, collapses the panel together with the navigation rail and Shop Performance.
Add New Job
The Add New Job button sits at the bottom of the panel. It appears for Owner / Admin, General Manager, Service Advisor, and Foreman when billing is current. See Add a job.
Past days
On a past day the header shows a “Past days are read-only.” chip. You cannot drag from the panel, but you can still open a card, change its status, or archive it.
