Ask BayBoard is the chat on Support. It answers how to use BayBoard from the published help docs at docs.bayboard.io. It does not access your shop’s jobs, schedule, customers, technicians, settings, or billing. Opening Support lands here. Press Ctrl+J on Windows, Cmd+J on Mac, to open it from anywhere. You can also click Support in the left rail, then Ask BayBoard, or press Ctrl+/ (Cmd+/ on Mac) and stay on this screen.
Support Ask BayBoard with the How Ask BayBoard works panel, the starter questions, the ask box, and the Documentation and What's New buttons

Ask a question

The welcome line reads “Ask how something in BayBoard works. I read from the help docs, not from your shop’s data.” Starter questions include Auto-Schedule, Unassigned, and time off.
1

Type a question

The input placeholder reads “How does Carry Forward work?”. Press Enter or click Ask. While it works, the chat reads “Looking through the docs…”.
2

Read the answer

Answers can include links to help pages. Those links open in a new browser tab.
3

Mark Helpful or Not helpful

After an answer, the chat asks “Was this helpful?” with Helpful and Not helpful.
There is no file upload in this chat. Do not paste customer, employee, payment, or other sensitive information.

When it cannot answer

If the question is not in the docs, the chat says “I could not find that in the docs. Send it to us as a ticket and you will get a real answer from a person, usually the same day.” Click Submit a ticket. After an answer that did not help, the button reads Still stuck? Submit a ticket.

Documentation and What’s New

Under the chat, two buttons open new tabs. They are not left-rail rows.
  • Documentation opens this help site.
  • What’s New opens the changelog.
The BayBoard tab stays on Ask BayBoard. There is no in-app docs reader.

How Ask BayBoard works

The screen includes a “How Ask BayBoard works” panel. It states that Ask BayBoard cannot see shop data, cannot make shop decisions or give repair-order advice, and cannot accept images, videos, or file uploads in this chat. Questions, answers, citations, outcomes, and feedback are retained for 90 days so BayBoard can improve Ask BayBoard and the help docs. The panel links the Privacy Policy.
